D minor natural, harmonic and melodic

minor scale consists of 3 parts : natural, harmonic, and melodic. 

in this video, i am portraying all 3 of them in order.

so the 1st one is natural, 2nd is harmonic, and 3rd melodic

D natural minor consists of only 1 #: B

D harmonic minor consists of 1 # : C ( in harmonic scales, the seventh note is sharped)

D melodic minor consists of 2#  (ascending): B, C (6th & 7th note are sharped)

(descending): no sharps because the 6th & 7th note are naturalized

Butterfly fields

this is my final decision on how my song will sound like. i added a little variation by putting the pedal and a ritardando at the end to make it sound interesting and less boring. i think i am ready for the assesment next week

the C major scale has a relative minor of A minor scale. how do i get this? by going up 6 steps from C. this goes the same to every scale. 

circle of 5ths

since i did a couple of mistakes for the 1st one, i decided to practice again to reduce the mistakes. i think i did well this time because the notes were played correctly although i hesitated a little at the beginning

circle of 5ths

im playing the sclaes of the 'circle of 5ths' which are C D E F G A B major. its easier to determine the particular sharps present in the scale by counting the 5th note of that certain sharp; and that will be your next sharp.

indonesia pusaka

this is me practicing the national anthem of indonesia called : Indonesia Pusaka. i think i did well because i was able to deliver the song with the right pitch, and the right lyrics

this is my 2nd attempt to playing my composition using both hands and i think i made quiet impressive improvements...i just had a few mistakes. maybe the next time i practice, i should focus more on the dynamic of the song

Finale & Composition


today we discussed about the finale for the last time since some of us has some difficulties. we also got some time to edit our composition so that mr.herry can check it for the last time before we give in the final draft on wednesday. next, i just need to print my composition because im done with it.\


in instrument class, we were given the scores of our survey and i was pretty pleased with my score. mr. herry also corrected our composition so that there will be no flaws in the final finale due on wednesday. next i have to fix some errors from my finale and also print it.

Singing Assesment/composition


today we had a singing assesment and i belive that me & karin did a good job although if we practiced more, i know we would do better. i also wrote my composition & submit it, next, i have to make the lyrics for the song. 


In instrument class, i learned how to use Finale & Microsoft Excel to make the song and the survey. i also practiced my composition (32 bars). next, i have to practice my song and continue working on the survey and finale.

today we discussed about the assignments that were to be done for nov 2011. such as the AA'BA (8bars), singing indonesia pusaka, and music survey. then we were given time to continue our AA'BA' song.

in instrument class, i uploaded my videos using the school's computer because there were some technical problems with my computer. next, i have to finish my AA'BA' song and keep updating my blog.

today we listened Mr.Herry explain about expanding our AA'BA' (4bars) into 8 bars. then i made my own variation and wrote it in my music notebook.
in instrument class, i played my extended song which consists of 8 bars and figured out the chords that fits for each bar. next, i have to finish my song and keep practicing

this is my song called Butterfly Fields. this song is based on the AA'BA' format. i think this song is good because it sounds cheerful based on the title itself. i still need to improve my playing it with my left hand in order to make the song better

the minor scale isnt so hard to play, but i still need to improve by playing it more faster thus without any mistakes

this is the major scale from C-B. i played each with 4 octaves and i think i need to practice more so i will be able to play it without hesitation

i am practicing the seventh chords on the piano from C, D, E , F, G, A, B. i learned that these chords are frequently used in songs.

CHROMATIC SCALE

im playing a chromatic scale from C which ranges until a total of 4 octaves. i find the chromatic scales quiet easy but i need to be careful with the fingering

Today we formed a froup of 4-5 people for our group presentation based on the topic: Western Music. we decided our group leader, Sabrina because we think that she's responsible enough to accomplish all the jobs to be a good leader. afterwards, we also divided the tasks on who was going to do what and etc. we have to prepare a presentation lasting 10 minutes max by Monday, 15 August 2011. we also practiced the major 7, minor 7, dominant 7 chords once again, but now we learnt a new one called diminished chord. next, i have to practice to play those chords at home in order to play it fluently on the piano.

Today in music class, i listened to my friend's performance and i myself performed as well. i sang infront of my classmates, teacher, and my voice was accompanied by a guitar. i think i did pretty well, although imm sure i will able to do a lot better if i practiced more. next, i have to research about the different genres by this wednesday.
